Helen Elizabeth (“Beth”) Heath

Beth Heath was born and educated in the Nation’s Capital with ancestors were deeply rooted in America’s history, the Revolutionary War, and subsequent wars at home and abroad. She acquired a love of our Nation’s values, history, and liberty.

Mrs. Heath is the Founder and volunteers to serve as CEO of the We Can Be Heroes Foundation. This nonprofit all-volunteer charity, formally known as Turning Points in America, has provided services continuously since 2015 with volunteers in various regions.  She leads their mission to honor military, veteran, and community heroes, provide education on the Constitution and America’s history, and assist homeless veterans and youth in-need.

Beth organizes military remembrances, tributes to heroes, Constitution classes, and programs to unite communities in common goals and instill pride in America’s founding values.  Beth leads the Foundation sponsorships and fundraising activities for the Atlantic Coast Young Marines, the Clara White Mission homeless veterans’ assistances programs, the Asian American and Pacific Islanders programs, and various veteran groups.  A summary of significant accomplishments is included below.

Mrs. Heath has continually served as Leader of the N. E. Florida Election Team since 2010.  She served as Precinct Manager of the Queens Harbor County Club in Jacksonville for over 20 years.  She served on the Leadership Council for the First Coast Tea Party and their Small Business Group Leader for four years.

Beth retired from the U.S. Navy Civil Service with service in Guam, Maryland, California, and West Palm Beach before her selection to the prestigious Navy Transition Team to establish a Navy supply hub in Jacksonville.  She served at U.S. Navy field activities for 30 years with numerous awards and consistently outstanding service ratings.   Other business experiences include Benefits Manager for the AFL-CIO American Bakers Union, and active partner of B & B Blasting and Special Movie Effects, Inc. for Hollywood, and Florida productions.

She served three years on the Parent Teachers Association Council for three years in Charles County, Maryland.  Beth served two 6-month terms on the Petit Jury for Charles County, Maryland, and 9 months on the Grand Jury for Palm Beach County, Florida.

After retiring from the Navy, Beth and her late husband traveled the U. S. for two years, touring each of the mainland 48 states.  Following their tour, they volunteered in the Jacksonville Florida Beaches area to assist elderly veterans and dependents in need of home repairs, meals and personal assistance for 15 years.  She delivered meals on wheel for 3 years.  Hobbies over the years have included “power puff” drag race driving, boating, and crabbing, gardening, senior and childcare, interior decorating, landscape design, minor construction, faux painting, and Girl Scout Leader.

Mrs. Heath is a member of the Navy League, Mayport, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Life Member, American Legion Auxiliary, Korean War Veterans Association, Vietnam Veterans of America Auxiliary, and the Duval County Veterans Council.  She is the widow of retired Navy Seabee Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, Mother of six beloved children and stepchildren and grandmother of eight.

  • Only group in U. S. to hold Annual Benghazi Heroes Tributes and memorial ceremonies with famous speakers, admirals, generals, authors, and experts for seven years.
  • Large national events at Banquet Halls and Auditoriums, including America at a Crossroads, America First, Security, Terrorism and Heroes, and Memorials and Tributes at Banquet Halls and Auditoriums.
  • Tributes to Unsung Heroes with well-known speakers to recognize community volunteers from around the country.
  • Breakfasts and dinners with our heroes for the public to meet veterans and community heroes.
  • Online Wall of Heroes for the public to honor their heroes and loved ones.
  • “Unsung Hero Lives Here” yard signs presented to nominees at formal events.
  • Monthly luncheons for homeless veterans with carry-out ditty bags of non-perishable food and needs for future meals.
  • Leads continual food and clothing drives for the homeless and veterans in need with drop off locations in 3 counties.

  • Host classroom book reviews by distinguished scholars.

  • Led the community effort to provide the first fully furnished Recreation Room for homeless veterans at local Mission.
  • Sponsor and co-host events with the Atlantic Coast Young Marines, K9s for Warriors, Concerned Veterans for America, Americans for Prosperity, Filipino-American Clubs, Asian American and Pacific Islanders, Navy Seabees Anniversary, Heroes Heart, high school clubs, veterans’ groups, and others as needs arise.
