Veterans Honored for Military Service
Breakfast with Our Heroes
(JACKSONVILLE) –Local charity Turning Points in America welcomed heroes last weekend at the “Flapjack Breakfast” at the St. Johns Town Center Applebee’s Restaurant. Tickets for the full breakfast were complimentary for the invaluable service rendered by local heroes in military service. Veterans from the Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corp were present and honored World War II Veterans Sollie Mitchell, Walter Atwood and Joseph Murtore. Music selections were performed by the Let Freedom Sing Chorus and attendees spontaneously joined in the cherished patriotic singing.
Veterans with the Clara White Mission joined other patriots to serve the breakfast. The Atlantic Coast Young Marines escorted the heroes and provided invaluable assistance to all. Donations were collected for homeless and in-need veterans. K9s for Warriors was an event sponsor.
