Two Atlantic Coast Young Marines were recently honored at their weekly drill with generous bonuses donated by our readers. Young Marines Joshua R. and Kevon T. stepped up to work part- time and summers to help their families loss of income due to the pandemic. Both Young Marines maintained good attitudes, juggled schoolwork taught virtually, achieved good school grades and remained dedicated to the Atlantic Coast Young Marines. Kevon received the Young Marines Honor Graduate from his recruit class and was recently inducted in the National Junior Honor Society at this school.
Joshua and Kevon were overwhelmed with the bonuses and expressed their gratitude to donors. Commander Vernon of the Atlantic Coast Young Marines thanked all donors for the bonuses and special occasion dinner, and Bob’s Cafe for desserts.
Bill Karandos, USMC Vietnam Veteran, held a Q&A for the Young Marines on the honor of serving in the US Marines. All the Young Marines expressed the traditional “Welcome Home” as they shook Veteran Karandos’s hand. “I felt so honored to be with these Young Marines” Bill Karandos, said, “Vets who fear being forgotten don’t need to worry here; our Jacksonville Young Marines always remember Vets.”
Thanks to friends like you, we’re blessed to continue our mission: honoring exceptional Americans doing extraordinary deeds.
