.Chaplain Steve Hanley has always been a hero to his sister, Gerri.  He survived serving in the Vietnam War.  He was 18 when he went in and was a signalman.

When Gerri was in college, a boy tried to strangle her while sitting in a car in front of their home.  Gerri honked the horn and Steve ran out the door to the car, smashed his hand through the glass window and pulled Gerri out.  The boy took off.  Steve never hesitated or thought about hurting hand.  His thoughts were to save Gerri’s life.

Chaplain Hanley studied to be a Chaplain and helps other veterans in Jacksonville in many ways.

Chaplain Hanley has always been there to protect his sister, and he deserves the honor of knowing he is her hero.  Gerri Woodham, as well as the City of Jacksonville, are very proud of Chaplain Hanley.
