Update June 2024:  Congratulations!  Glenn Wright was elected as the Commander for the State of Florida Veterans of Foreign Wars Organization.

Glenn Wright of Jacksonville FL has spent his life serving others and his country.  He has been an active Advocate for all Veterans and First Responders for decades.  Glenn has been an active member and the “go-to-guy” at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Wesconnett Post 7909 in Jacksonville and served in many post chairs, including the Post Commander for 8 years.  He was awarded the All-State and All-American Commander multiple times.  He served as as Veterans of Foreign Wars Department Voice of Democracy, Community Service, and Homeless Veterans Support Assistant Northern Region programs for years. Glenn has served as District 6 Adjutant since 2013. He is also a proud member of the Military Order of the Cooties (MOC) and has been the Custodian of the Crummy Duffel Bag Program for 8 years. He is a Gold Legacy Life Member. 

For years he gone the extra mile in service to fellow veterans and his community.  Glenn ensures the VFW Post Kitchen is stocked to serve members and to accommodate complimentary appreciation meals for Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and Police Officers.  When a Veteran who needs a meal but is unable to pay, Glenn arranges a meal for them.  He ensures the Post Canteen and Kitchen is within standards and ensures his Post passes health inspections.

Glenn is a Gulf War veteran and served in the US Navy for 22 years. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2006. His awards include 4 Navy Commendation and 4 Navy Achievement Medals and numerous others.
